Rustic wolf spider (Trochosa ruricola), a member of the Lycosidae family. This species is a ground hunter often found under stones and logs in damp environments. Trochosa ruricola can be found across western and central Europe, in the UK it is found primarily in the south. This individual was photographed having preyed on another species of wolf spider. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in June.
