Prehistoric stone tools. 19th-century artwork of twenty prehistoric flint stone tools 'found in the drift' in Europe and in England. The 'drift' refers to the soils and glacial deposits found on top of the bedrock. This artwork is from a paper by British archaeologist and geologist John Evans (1823-1908). Published in Volume 39, Issue 1 (1863) of 'Archaeologia', the journal of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
