Description
Computerised physiotherapy progra- mme. Man exercising his leg using equipment (at lower right) which feeds information of his performance into a computer. Physiotherapy is the use of exercise to restore joint stiffness or muscle strength after an illness or injury. This assessment system uses a computer (not seen here) to devise an individualised physiotherapy progra- mme for limb joints based on a variety of perform- ance indications. The computer can detect potent- ial problems that may lead to further injury. The computer provides a visual display of the progress made by the patient which can be used to encourage him.
