Mount Nyiragongo lava lake. Steam and volcanic gases rising from the crater and lava lake at the summit of Mount Nyiragongo, an active stratovolcano in the Virunga Mountains of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mount Nyiragongo reaches an elevation of 3470 metres. Photographed in January 2011.
