Magic mushrooms growning in a home grow-kit. These are Stropharia (or Psilocybe) sp. mushrooms. They are cultivated for their hallucinogenic effect when eaten. This effect is due to the presence of the active compounds psilocybin and psilocin. Numerous mushroom species containing these compounds are termed magic mushrooms". Photographed in Britain."
