Artist's Description
Glastonbury Festival. Crowds surrounding a stage at the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts. This live music festival has been held every summer since 1970 when it was known as the Pilton Festival. The latest festival in 2005 hosted 385 live performances and attracted 150,000 people. Although controversy has surrounded the festival due to security, the consumption of drink and drugs and impact on local communities, the festival is widely supported by volunteer organisations, charities and environmental groups. Photographed in Somerset, England.
