Description
Gloved hands of a surgical team in an operating theatre perform balloon angioplasty on a patient. A balloon catheter has been inserted into the patient's narrowed shoulder artery. The balloon catheter is then inflated to crush fatty deposits (atherosclerosis) inside the artery, opening up the blood vessel for improved blood flow.
