African elephant bulls fighting. Male African elephants (Loxodonta africana) compete for dominance and access to females with trunk wrestling and pushing. Fights can escalate to tusk charges, sometimes with fatal results. These elephants are the world's largest land animal, weighing up to 10,000 kilograms and measuring 3.5 metres in height.
